Engalanando Plaza de la Independencia is the Hotel Plaza Grande, with more than five centuries of history. During the Spanish foundation of Quito, the site where the house is located was awarded to the famous conquistador Francisco Pizarro. It was the first house built during the foundation of the city in the sixteenth century, later it was inhabited by the most affluent and well-known families in the city.
